TL Dosimeter Technology
• Thermoluminescence is a form of luminescence that is exhibited by certain crystalline materials, such as some minerals, when previously absorbed energy from electromagnetic radiation or other ionizing radiation is re-emitted as light upon heating of the material. • The personal ionising radiation dosimeter is of fundamental importance in the disciplines of radiation dosimetry and radiation health physics and is primarily used to estimate the radiation dose deposited in an individual wearing the device. • Radat Dosimetry Lab. measure the personal doses using with TLD technology. • Our laboratory use TLD crystals which is produces by Polond / Krakow Institute of Nuclear Physics. • To measure whole body and skin equivalant doses, use MTS-N (Lif:Mg,Ti) crystals and also use MCP-N (Lif:Mg,Cu,P) crystals which is 30 times more sensitive than MTS-N use for measure eye (lens) equivalant doses.
The slide has four positions for the detectors (pellets, chips or rods). The RADOS badge design allows the exchange of filter materials, filter thickness and TL materials. This makes it possible to handle the elements separately (e.g. extremity or clinical dosimetry).
Different radiation types and energies are evaluated sensitively due to measure wide energy and dose range capability.
